Evènement 2020 GEM Report Global Launch Countries committed to achieve inclusive education by 2030 and yet almost a quarter of a billion are still out of school. On 23 June the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report will launch its 2020 Report on inclusion and education: All means all. It calls for countries to concentrate on those being left behind and move towards inclusion in education – a particularly poignant message for those now rebuilding their school systems after the arrival of Covid-19.
Evènement Elevating Education in Emergencies: Securing Uninterrupted Learning for Crises-affected Children Featuring experienced speakers from diverse contexts and institutions, the final instalment in this series will unpack practical examples, research findings and recommendations to move beyond a conceptual discussion on the humanitarian–development nexus to outline what can be done in practice – including through coordination – to meet the education rights of children. Through this, the event will explore how the nexus can be leveraged to ensure uninterrupted learning for affected children and youth in crises contexts, including where existing crises are compounded by COVID-19.
Evènement Joint UNESCO-UNICEF-World Bank webinar series on the reopening of schools The joint webinar series is organized around the Framework for reopening of schools, published in April 2020 in collaboration with UNICEF and the World Bank, and aims to support governments in strengthening distance learning and facilitating the reopening of schools, as part of the Global Education Coalition’s efforts on COVID-19. The series includes 5 webinars broadcasted over the month of June.
