NORRAG is recruiting an EiE thematic expert to join the SDC Education Backstopping team. This is a part-time position (50%), located in Geneva.
The purpose of this role is to support effective education and multi-sectoral programming in fragile and conflict-affected states, refugee and development contexts through the provision of technical and strategic support to country programmes on education access, quality and wellbeing, and through the documentation of learning and best practice.
Reporting to the Vice President, Impact & Quality, the Director, Education drives excellence in education programming and is responsible for the leadership, oversight and support for implementation of the global education strategy and theories of change. You will facilitate internal and external learning for continuous improvement, leading and mentoring a global team to deliver education programs that improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people.
As our Country Programmes Manager, you hold the end responsibility of all VVOB operations within Rwanda and you develop and inspire the 20+ staff members in your team. You are actively engaged in strategy and policy development at global organisational level and translate these global strategies and policies into relevant and scalable strategies, policies and programmes at the country level. As a leader you ensure VVOB in Rwanda lives and implements VVOB’s Learning Unlimited strategy.
As CW4WAfghan expands its programming to reach as many Afghan girls and women as possible as their need for access to quality learning opportunities intensifies, we are seeking a new leadership team member to strengthen our outreach with different stakeholders integral to our mission and our partnerships with other organizations across all seven of our programs, which include three programs in Canada and four programs in Afghanistan. The Outreach & Institutional Partnerships Director will bring with them a track record of strategic leadership in partnerships development and management, and in creating and using excellent tools and processes to this end, as well as in building new skills and competencies in team members. They will be part of a committed, talented and growing team working hard to make the right to learn a reality for women and girls in Afghanistan.
We are seeking an exceptional leader with experience managing education projects in the Global South, who is focused on the achievement of learning outcomes among learners facing adversity. This role will include leading a diverse team of project personnel – including school leadership, coordinators, teaching support, technical specialists, and others – to achieve our target outcomes, through careful management of the project work plan and budget, rigorous performance measurement, and continuous team building.
