Marta trabalha no setor de educação há mais de 20 anos junto a ONGs internacionais, entidades doadoras e autoridades governamentais na África Oriental, Ocidental e Austral, com foco especial na educação em contextos de conflito e pós-conflito. Ela tem experiência na oferta de formas alternativas de educação e em educação não formal para crianças e jovens fora da escola, especificamente Educação Acelerada; na oferta de educação básica em contextos de conflito e pós-conflitos, bem como contextos de fragilidade social; educação e deslocação forçada; e desenvolvimento profissional de professoras/es. Martha é professora e tem mestrado em Emergências e Práticas para o Desenvolvimento. Atualmente está baseada na Tanzânia.
