INEE Minimum Standards, 2024 Edition FAQs

These FAQs provide pertinent information related to the updated INEE MS such as how to access the INEE MS, how the 2024 update affects existing MS-related tools and resources, and the next steps in the launch and roll-out of the INEE MS, 2024 Edition. Additional information on the INEE MS, 2024 Edition is available here.

  1. How can I access the INEE MS, 2024 Edition?

There are several ways to access the INEE MS. In addition to hard copies, the INEE MS are available in digital form on the INEE website (inee.org/minimum-standards), where the INEE MS content, translations, Indicator Framework, and supporting resources are directly linked.

Hard copies of the INEE MS, 2024 Edition in English are available for purchase through Practical Action Publishing, a third-party publisher via this link. If you are interested in printing the INEE MS, 2024 Edition yourself or need support to obtain hard copies, contact [email protected].

  2. How does the 2024 Update affect translations and contextualizations of the INEE MS, 2010 Edition?

The structure of the domains and standards from the INEE MS, 2010 Edition is mostly the same in this updated version, so contextualizations and translations of the 2010 edition are still a useful framework for EiE programming and planning.

However, updates to guidance in the 2024 edition capture key developments in education in emergencies over the last decade. INEE encourages stakeholders who have translated or contextualized the INEE MS, 2010 Edition to update their existing versions to ensure they remain relevant and in line with current good practices and evidence. Stakeholders who are interested in updating an existing INEE MS translation or contextualization, or translating or contextualizing the INEE MS in a new context, can reach out to the INEE Secretariat at [email protected] for more guidance and support on planning and reporting.

INEE will actively reach out to coordination systems in contexts where INEE MS contextualizations and MS 2010 Edition translations exist, offering orientations on the INEE MS, 2024 Edition and support for planning to update these versions.

  3. How does the 2024 Update affect tools and resources based on the INEE MS?

The structure of the domains and standards from the INEE MS, 2010 Edition is mostly the same in this updated version, so many of the tools and resources based on the INEE MS are still relevant and valid. INEE will be making updates to the following resources to align them with changes in the INEE MS, 2024 Edition, but stakeholders can continue to use them

Users should take care to note any differences between the current versions of these resources and the INEE MS, 2024 Edition.
