Resource Education as the weapon for the future: A qualitative study of education needs in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan The people of the Nuba Mountains in Sudan have been under conflict for decades. This conflict has left the people of Nuba lacking many resources, including education support. Due to the nature of the conflict, access to the region is challenging. Still, the education organization, To Move Mountains, was able to conduct qualitative research with two communities within the conflict zone.
Resource Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) This data provides georeferenced data on conflicts with a minimum of 25 battle-related deaths as well as linked data that may be relevant for understanding the conflict. Data include conflict parties, events and casualties, and distinguishes between three types of violence (state-based, non-state, and one-sided violence).
Resource Armed Conflict Location and Events Dataset (ACLED) This dataset provides georeferenced data on political violence and protests from developing countries. Data include the dates, locations, and fatalities of battles, violence against civilians, riots, and protests.
Resource Supervision and Coaching Models in Conflict Zones Manahel is a 3-year project that provides access to safe, inclusive, and quality learning opportunities to children in Syria, while strengthening education actors to effectively manage education. It places significant emphasis on teacher well-being, not only for the sake of the teacher, but also due to strong evidence that teachers have a significant impact on student achievement.
