When children living in crisis are asked what they need most, time and time again they tell us they want to continue their education. This is a collection of statements of what children want regarding their education.

Fixing the Broken Promise of Education for All, a report produced by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics and UNICEF, could not be more timely. As the international community renews its commitment to advance every child’s right to education, it explores why global progress has stalled since the early 2000s, when millions of additional children poured into the world’s classrooms, and provides the data and analysis needed to move forward and reach every child excluded from education.

This report reviews Syrian refugee education for children in the three neighboring countries with the largest population of refugees — Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan — and analyzes four areas: access, management, society, and quality.

This publication identifies trends in the practice and contribution of UN human rights mechanisms to the protection of education in times of insecurity and armed conflict and offers recommendations on how such protection might be strengthened.

Rights from the Start is intended to highlight a truth that should be uncontroversial: that every person is entitled to the right to care and education from birth. However, the shocking fact remains that 200 million children do not receive these rights at all: the report examines government planning and budgets (including donor assistance) to show that many do not prioritise or even include early childhood in the education or national strategies.

Este informe, escrito por Vernor Muñoz, ex Relator Especial de las Naciones Unidas por el Derecho a la Educación, pretende, desde su título en adelante, destacar una verdad incuestionable: que ni los derechos ni la educación empiezan cuando el niño o la niña ingresa en la escuela primaria 

Ce rapport, comme l’indique son titre, est destiné à mettre en évidence une vérité qui devrait être incontestée : ni les droits ni l’éducation ne commencent le jour où un enfant entre à l’école primaire. 

Este relatório, escrito por Vernor Muñoz, ex- Relator Especial das Nações Unidas sobre o Direito à Educação, tem como objectivo - como indica o seu título - destacar uma verdade que deveria ser incontestável: que nem os direitos nem a educação começam apenas quando uma criança entra pela primeira vez no ensino básico.
