Learning and Development with INEE

TiCC Training
Teachers in Crisis Context Training, Amman, Jordan, 2017

As the world faces increasingly complex and protracted crises, the number of children and young people whose right to education is at risk continues to grow. To meet these complex needs, all practitioners and stakeholders must continue to develop their EiE knowledge and skills so that they are able to ‘ensure the right to a quality, safe, and relevant education for all who live in emergency and crisis contexts through prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery’.

INEE embraces a comprehensive approach to Learning and Development (L&D) in the EiE sector, an approach that aims to enhance the quality, accessibility, and relevance of learning experiences it provides to its diverse membership.

INEE defines a learning experience as any individual or group activity or opportunity where learning, and potentially mutual learning can happen. The network seeks to develop and support rich learner-centered learning experiences through decolonized and anti-racist practices dictated by the INEE Anti-racism and racial-equity commitments and the INEE Minimum Standards Anti-racism and Decolonisation Thematic Review Findings.

INEE members work together to develop inter-agency tools and resources to support relevant learning experiences, and support EiE practitioners and stakeholders to use the INEE Minimum Standards, as well as providing diverse learning opportunities for the network. INEE also shares high quality Learning & Development  opportunities from individual organizations and initiatives, while working with network members to improve and harmonize sector-wide approaches to professional development and supporting the professionalization of the EiE workforce

INEE offers learning and development opportunities in a variety of formats such as online and virtual training opportunities, shorter orientations, workshops, and online courses, emphasizing active learner engagement and ownership.

Additionally, the INEE Community of Practice contributes to the ongoing learning and development of its members. The community updates the members with the latest events and resources in EiE shared by the members themselves, and connects them to a network of experts and peers, opening the way to many opportunities for mutual learning and support.

INEE Minimum Standards Trainings

MS Training

The INEE Minimum Standards aims to enhance the quality of educational preparedness, response and recovery, increase access to safe and relevant learning opportunities and ensure accountability in providing these services. Additionally, the standards are valuable to support transitioning quality education provision from humanitarian aid to development assistance and strengthening national education policies.

INEE provides multiple training formats to allow members to familiarize themselves with the Minimum Standards, including face-to-face trainings, online trainings and orientations, and an online self-paced course on Kaya.

Individual INEE members will be able to apply for MS training opportunities once the updated INEE Minimum Standards is published in 2024.

If you have any questions on any of INEE’s learning experiences, including MS trainings or orientations, please contact learning@inee.org
