These notes have been developed by the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (the Alliance) in collaboration with the Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR) as a practical aid for assessing standalone Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) proposals and multi-sector proposals with CPiE components.

The second edition includes case studies that look at both the politics and policies of education for refugees and IDPs as well as education as protective and preventative measures. Within these two overarching topics, the case studies in this volume focus on the following geographical areas: Pakistan, Turkey, New York City, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Sudan.

This publication exposes these impacts and calls for effective strategies to ensure education continuity, promote gender equality and improve lives and futures through a review of published research, a global survey of actions taken by organizations in favour of gender equality in education, and in-depth data collection in five countries.

This guidance note explores how to use qualitative methods to create more robust assessment processes to ensure more effective programming and services for children with disabilities. This note provides promising practices for engaging with children with disabilities and includes sample tools that can be tailored to fit the needs of a particular assessment process.
