This webinar was part of an INEE hosted multi-part webinar series from the USAID Middle East Education Research, Training, and Support (MEERS) program, implemented by Social Impact and FHI 360. The series titled “The 4Ws of Education in Emergencies (EiE) Data: Who has What data? Where can I find it? And Why is this so complicated?”. The other webinars in this series can be found by clicking on the links below:

The webinar began with a brief recap of the humanitarian response system and its implications for EiE data. This recap included an overview of key actors in humanitarian education response, as well as key concepts including humanitarian programme cycle outputs, data collection and reporting mechanisms, data dashboards, and humanitarian data quality issues. Next, the webinar defined humanitarian operations education data and explains how it can be useful in an emergency setting. Multiple sources of humanitarian education data are discussed, including UN OCHA, Education Clusters, and UNHCR’s Operational Data Portal. Discussions of these sources included brief navigation activities for participants to locate EiE data on different platforms. The webinar concluded with an exploration of ways to use humanitarian education data in EiE and introduces additional sources of humanitarian education data and information, including UN OCHA’s Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX).
