Join the World Bank at their Panel Discussion on Ending Learning Poverty, on Monday, September 23rd.

Latest World Bank research shows that only half of children in low- and middle-income countries can read and understand a short story by late primary age. Eliminating this learning poverty is as urgent a development objective as eliminating hunger, stunting, and extreme poverty. Meeting that objective requires taking forceful and urgent action.

Speakers:

  • Annette Dixon, World Bank Vice President for Human Development
  • David Boutcher, Global Business Coalition for Education
  • Goodwin Obaseki, Executive Governor of Edo State, Nigeria
  • Henrietta Fore, Executive Director, UNICEF
  • Jaime Saavedra, World Bank Global Director, Education
  • Peter Tabichi, 2019 Global Teacher and Prize Winner
  • Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education, UNESCO
