Based on interviews in November 2016 and January 2017 with over 40 people this report documents the occupation of schools for military purposes, such as for barracks or bases. Further, the report outlines how abuses by fighters in and around schools are threatening the safety of students and teachers, as well as children’s ability to learn.

Desde o ano 2000, quando a comunidade internacional fez suas promessas em Dacar, foram registrados progressos significativos em direção a alguns dos objetivos de EPT. Alguns dos países mais pobres do mundo demonstraram que liderança política e políticas práticas fazem diferença. Entretanto, se forem mantidas as mesmas práticas, não será possível alcançar os objetivos de Dacar.

Taking both this distressing context and children’s desire to return to the classroom into consideration, we have decided to analyse whether or not education in emergencies receives the attention it deserves in order to provide the response it needs. To do this, the funds contributed by the international community to this area in Ukraine have been analysed, particularly the Spanish contribution.
