Generations For Peace (GFP) is a Jordan-based global non-profit peacebuilding organization founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan in 2007.
Dedicated to sustainable conflict transformation at the grassroots, Generations For Peace empowers volunteer leaders of youth to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship in communities experiencing different forms of conflict and violence.
Carefully facilitated sport-based games, art, advocacy, dialogue, empowerment, and media activities provide an entry point to engage children, youth, and adults, and a vehicle for integrated education and sustained behavioural change.
1. Purpose of the Position:
The Finance Officer will contribute to the efficient and effective financial management at GFP, by recording, analyzing and presenting financial information, maintaining record of assets, liabilities, funds, expenditures, tax liabilities, or other finacial activities within GFP, and preparing financial reports for Senior Management Team, for Board, and for different Donors and Partners.
2. Responsibilities:
- Manage GFP funds on assigned programmes, ensure timely posting for transactions, cash settlement and payment preperation in compliance with Donor/GFP procedures, polices and audit requirments.
- Prepare different financial analytical reports on a monthly and periodically basis as assigned.
- Accounts payable, processing invoices, following up with vendors and solving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Accounts receivables, including processing payments, producing statement of accounts, collections on overdue accounts, and accounts reconciliation when it’s required.
- Banking and cash reconciliation on monthly basis, analyzing variances and clearing pending’s
- Processing payouts and petty cash, verifying is within Generations for Peace policies and budget lines, correcting errors, questioning abnormal expenses and entering into the finance system.
- GFP credit cards reconciliation and communication for obtaining supporting documentation.
- GFP USA trial balance, recording and following on cash, bank reconciliation and bill settlements.
- Assist with the preparation of P&L and cost variance analysis.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
- Assisting with monthly and year end tasks.
- Fixed Assets and Depreciation.
- Filling and records retention.

- Contributing and brainstorming ideas in support of organization objectives.

5. Education, Qualifications, Competences, Skills Required:
Essential:
- University Bachelor’s Degree, accounting, finance, business management.
- At least two year’s professional experience in accounting role.
- Excellent computer skills (documents/spreadsheets/databases/presentations/calendars/email).
- Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Interest in global current affairs, peace building and development.
- Commitment to learning and personal development.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated payroll processing experience.
