The Journal on Education in Emergencies (JEiE) seeks manuscripts that draw on and advance existing knowledge on EiE and build novel evidence that addresses educational challenges in humanitarian and/or development settings. We welcome both theoretical and empirical research articles that address a broad range of EiE themes, including natural disasters, conflict-affected/fragile states, conflict sensitive-education, attacks on education, education for peacebuilding, resilience, transitions from emergency to recovery/post-conflict to development, forced migration and displacement, and more.

Additionally, JEiE welcomes field note submissions that present innovative tools or approaches related to education in emergencies, progress, insights, and challenges in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating EiE initiatives, or observations and commentary on EiE research. More information about JEiE field notes is available here.

Recognizing the global scope of these issues, JEiE seeks submissions from all regions of the world. However, only manuscripts written in English will be considered for publication at this time.

The deadline for submitting manuscripts is 31 January 2022. If helpful, authors are invited to submit a 200-word abstract to [email protected] by 31 December 2022, for brief comment from the JEiE Editorial Office regarding their manuscript’s suitability for inclusion in JEiE. Submission of an abstract by this date is optional and at the author’s discretion.

More information and instructions for submitting manuscripts via PeerTrack is available at https://inee.org/evidence/journal/information-for-authors. As a diamond open-access journal, JEiE never charges article submission fees or access fees. All previous issues of JEiE and individual articles can be downloaded for free from the INEE website: https://inee.org/journal.

Please contact the Editorial Office at [email protected] with any questions.

Sincerely,

INEE and Journal on Education in Emergencies
