Background:
The ongoing war in Yemen has affected the Education Sector dramatically. The result of war has increased the drop-out rate from 980,000 students in 2014 to more than 3 million students in 2021 according to the UNESCO report. Government annual funding for education has been cut off, and limited support from the International community has badly impacted education sectors in supporting in Yemen.
Webinar objectives:
- Identify the effects of the war and conflict in Yemen on the education sector.
- Identify the effects of the war on financing education in Yemen.
- Understand the literacy, adult & girl education in Yemen.
- Highlight the role of the international systems in supporting the education sector in Yemen since 2015
- Organise recommendations and future directions to minimize the effects of the war on education in Yemen.
