The High-level virtual event hosted by the State of Qatar, Qatar Fund for Development, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development and Education Above All Foundation will address the complex challenges that COVID-19 creates and explore selected means in which education can address and fulfil its obligations during and post COVID-19 times.

Without question, countries have reeled at the onset of the novel coronavirus and the staggering number of children whose education has been interrupted due to school closings and the need to defend against an unprecedented public health emergency. Organisations of varying size and scope, as well as teachers and parents, have scrambled to address the situation in the short term. Now, several months into the pandemic and with countries shifting towards cautious reopening, maybe an opportune occasion to assess the current state of affairs, lessons learned so far and the implications for the future.

A seasoned moderator who is well placed to facilitate this important discussion will posit questions, which will permit panellists the opportunity to offer their remarks. After every panellist has had the floor, the moderator will open a Q&A session, which will then be followed by closing remarks and a voluntary virtual tour of an online exhibition.
