The INEE Advocacy Working Group of is delighted to invite you to the launch of an important advocacy brief: Private Engagement in Education in Emergencies: Rights and Regulations!

This web event will be presented in the form of an interactive debate, which will highlight the tensions between private engagement in education in emergencies (EiE) and humanitarian action.

The brief that is being launched during this webinar presents the findings from research conducted by Francine Menashy and Zeena Zakharia on private sector engagement in EiE. In recent years, given shortfalls in public financing and the need for urgent responses, private actors have increasingly become involved in various aspects of educational programming for EiE. This phenomenon can produce tensions that need to be addressed and treated with extra coordination, advocacy, and attention. The brief explores some of these tensions and makes recommendations to support the prioritization of safe, equitable, and quality public education for all children and young people affected by crises.
