INEE is excited to build on its multi-part webinar series from the USAID Middle East Education Research, Training, and Support (MEERS) program, implemented by Social Impact and FHI 360. The series titled “The 4Ws of Education in Emergencies (EiE) Data: Who has What data? Where can I find it? And Why is this so complicated?” provides hands-on practice for professionals to further their understanding of the types of data available in crisis contexts and how to access, interpret, and use that data. The goal of the series is to contribute to increased effective data usage to further education policy, program design and implementation, and evidence building across this field.

The fifth webinar in this series shared the results of a study to help further our understanding of what the existing IDP educational data landscape looks like. There were over 50 million people around the world experiencing internal displacement in 2019. A lack of systematic data on internally displaced persons (IDPs) can exacerbate the educational challenges of IDP children. More detailed findings are presented in the forthcoming resource, "Mapping the Ecosystem of Education Data for Internally Displaced Persons in the Middle East and Beyond: Issues, Challenges, and Recommendations". On January 19th, at 9am EST, MEERS presented the new resource to a wider audience for the first time ever in a webinar hosted by INEE. Presenters included Annie Smiley (FHI 360) and Daniel Shephard (Teachers College, Columbia University). Join this webinar to learn more about what the current landscape looks like and how we as an international community of practitioners can support more systematic data collection for IDPs.

This webinar was conducted in English, with closed captioning.
