NEW INITIATIVE: INEE Country Focal Points

Published by
Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE)

We are excited to announce the launch of the INEE Country Focal Points, a new pilot initiative aimed at addressing INEE members' demands for better ways to connect with other EiE actors in their country contexts. This project aims to meet those demands and advance INEE's longer term work to strengthen and diversify its membership (INEE Strategic Priority 4).

INEE is enlisting 10-12 Country Focal Points (CFPs) across the main INEE official language groups - Arabic, English, French, Portuguese and Spanish - for a short-term pilot initiative to run for a period of six months, January-June 2021. CFPs are envisioned to be key reference persons for INEE members to support networking and communication, particularly through the facilitation of information exchange and discussion at the country level.

The CFPs will be unpaid, part-time (2-4 hours per week) roles providing ample opportunities for learning, networking, and development. We will select candidates based on individual qualifications as well as geographic and linguistic diversity.

We invite you to have a look at the INEE Country Focal Point terms of reference (in ArabicEnglishFrenchPortuguese or Spanish) for more information on the pilot initiative, possible activities, role requirements, and more. Some of the basic requirements for candidates are:

  • Hold INEE membership for at least four (4) years;

  • At least four (4) years of experience working in education in emergencies;
