Social and Emotional Competency Assessment (SECA)

The Social and Emotional Competency Assessment (SECA) Tool was adapted in the Kenyan context to assess four of the seven competencies of the Kenya Competency Based Curriculum.

seedlingThe original SECA tool developed in English (RTI, 2018) was translated to Swahili (Joyner, 2021) and discussed and adapted with primary school teachers. It was then used to measure four of the seven competencies outlined in the Kenya Competency Based Curriculum: self-efficacy, communication and collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving, and learning to learn
