Child PTSD Symptom Scale (CPSS-Sy) - Lebanon

2The Child PTSD Symptom Scale (CPSS-Sy) is a self-report questionnaire designed to assess the severity of DSM-IV PTSD symptoms in children aged 8-18 years. It was adapted for Syrian children and tested with a Syrian refugee population, aged 8-17 years, living in Lebanon in informal tented settlements.

Evidence Snapshot

Summary
In testing with Syrian refugee children in Lebanon, CPSS had good evidence of internal consistency. However, it was difficult to
achieve a good balance between sensitivity and specificity using two different approaches to selecting a cut-off score. If used in a clinical setting, a second stage of screening or assessment would be required to discriminate true from false positives. If used for epidemiological research, further work is required to establish a cut-off that is likely to yield a more accurate prevalence estimate in this context.
