INEE Member Spotlight: Rina Suryani Oktari ("Okta")

Meet Rina Suryani Oktari ("Okta").

Okta is a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Head of Graduate Program in Disaster Science, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). She is the Secretary, Indonesia Society for Disaster Management (MPBI).

Okta learnt about INEE in 2017 during a training by the Indonesian Disaster Education Consortium, and became the INEE Country Focal Point (CFP) for Indonesia in 2022.

As an INEE member, she is able to connect and network with a community of EiE experts, stay up to date on the latest research, best practices, and opportunities for professional development. As a INEE CFP for Indonesia, she has been organizing Meet-ups for EiE professionals and stakeholders and promoting INEE network and resources in her region.As a lecturer, she has been integrating INEE resources and tools in her research and curriculum, and sharing resources and information with her students.
