Request for Proposals: Understanding loss and damage to education in Burkina Faso, Niger and South Sudan

ODI has just launched a Request for Proposal to look for three research partners — one in Burkina Faso, Niger and South Sudan—to expand the body of evidence on how climate change impacts education. The findings from this research will feed into the Combatting Loss & Damage to Education (CLADE) project implemented by Oxfam Denmark and ODI.

The RFP is open only to:

• National Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), researchers and civil society groups working within or near Burkina Faso, Niger and South Sudan
• African Regional Organisations, networks, consortia, think-tanks and academic institutions based on the African continent.

Organisations should have an established track record in educational research, climate change advocacy, civil society coordination, or humanitarian action within Education in Emergencies and Protracted Crises (EiEPC).

Applicants are required to submit their complete proposal package via email before the deadline. The submission packet must contain the following components: 1. Technical narrative including: • Proposal summary • Problem statement and contextual analysis • Research questions • Methodological details including data sources, indicative geographies, stakeholders and sampling details • Contribution to Loss and Damage discourse or policy including links with existing mechanisms and structures around Loss and Damage • Team description and expertise
