Project Lead – Caribbean Climate Smart Schools Help Desk

The Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) is a rapidly growing international not-for-profit organisation with a mission to reduce the impacts of climate change through policy reform in the buildings sector. GBPN works to drive measurable emissions reductions, increased health and employment in a sustainable buildings sector.
GBPN is seeking a Project Lead to support the implementation of the Caribbean Climate Smart School Buildings Project, a key component of the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) in the Caribbean. This initiative, funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), is implemented in Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines by UNESCO, UNESCO-IIEP and Save the Children, in collaboration with regional partners and national education authorities.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Project Lead will be responsible for both project management and technical advisory functions. They will coordinate the establishment and operation of a regional Help Desk and Peer Learning Network, support Ministries of Education in revising infrastructure policies and guidelines, and provide technical advice on integrating climate resilience into school infrastructure. The role includes stakeholder engagement, research, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management and technical advisory roles in climate adaptation, school safety or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with Ministries of Education or government stakeholders in the Caribbean region.
- Architectural or engineering qualifications.
- Strong understanding of climate-resilient infrastructure and school safety frameworks.
- Proficiency in managing remote teams and digital collaboration tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
