In the week of World Refugee Day, this webinar will launch Save the Children’s new report "Unlocking Potential", exploring findings and recommendations on how refugee teachers in East Africa can be certified and supported as qualified educators. Amid efforts to enhance quality education for refugees, refugee teachers still remain largely unrecognised. The session will engage policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to discuss viable certification pathways, system-strengthening strategies, and regional coordination efforts. Participants will gain practical insights into inclusive teacher training, recruitment and management policies. The webinar aims to foster collaboration and action to expand qualification access for refugee educators. Through this we aim to increase options to remove barriers, scale certification access, and meaningfully include refugee educators in national systems.
