INEE Community Conversation: "Power of Student Voices in EiE"

Students living through emergencies face immense challenges like displacement, disrupted schooling, loss of stability, and limited access to safe learning spaces. Yet they also play a powerful role as leaders, storytellers, and advocates for their own education. This INEE community conversation aimed to create a space where practitioners and young people can learn from one another, reflect on what is working, and highlight what is missing in current EiE responses.

This interactive INEE community conversation began with remarks from Clautrida Mutabaruka on her education experiences and challenges as a former refugee. The meeting was then opened for participants to share their experiences: 

• What challenges do you face as a student? 
• How have you already made a change in your learning environment?
• How can we enhance student voices in EiE (best practice examples)?
• What benefits and challenges arise from including student voices?

The meeting concluded with a presentation from Wiebke Streckenbach on how the INEE community can help you connect with other students and early EiE professionals and access quality EiE tools, resources, and opportunities.
