Global Launch: The Impact of Funding Cuts on Children and their Protection across Humanitarian Contexts - An Analysis One Year On
The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action is hosting an upcoming launch event for a new report: The Impact of Funding Cuts on Children and their Protection across Humanitarian Contexts: An Analysis One Year On.
Building on the Alliance’s initial global snapshot in early 2025, this new
analysis draws on data from 401 respondents across 68 countries, alongside key informant interviews, highlighting rising protection risks for children, significant reductions in access to child protection services, and widespread operational budget cuts across organisations. In some contexts, funding reductions have resulted in the elimination of services entirely.
What began as abrupt funding volatility has evolved into systemic deterioration — shrinking services, eroding referral systems, and escalating risks for children across regions.
You are warmly invited to join the launch event to learn more about the findings and reflect on their implications for children, child protection systems, and the humanitarian response.
