Accelerated learning
An approach to teaching and learning, informed by research in the cognitive and neurosciences, provides more engaged, proficient, and faster development of learned knowledge and basic skills.
Although Accelerated Learning is a desirable goal for Accelerated Education Programs, in reality, most AEP teachers in humanitarian and development contexts use standard teaching-learning methods due to limited specific Accelerated Learning training and experience. Accelerated Education Programs are able to accelerate learning by condensing the curriculum, concentrating on basic skills and competencies, having smaller classes, and allowing more time for learning tasks. For this reason, using AEP rather than ALP is recommended as it more accurately describes the programs.
