Luis Claros

Luis Claros is one of two INEE Country Focal Points for Venezuela. He has a Master's Degree in Management from the Universidad Pedagógica Libertador UPEL (Venezuela) and a Master's Degree in Neuropsychology and Education from the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja UNIR (Spain). He is a teacher by profession, focused on community cultural development, and has more than 14 years of experience in formal and non-formal education, as well as in the design and implementation of public policies for technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
Currently he is UNICEF's national education officer on the Colombian-Venezuelan border and has led the education cluster and the PSEA network at the subnational level during the complex humanitarian emergency that the country has been going through since 2019.
He has promoted comprehensive response programs to the crisis, which have facilitated the creation of technical committees between State authorities, UN agencies, CSOs, and NGOs to guarantee the rights of children and work on the recovery of the education system. Luis is Venezuelan and speaks Spanish and English.
