Ifedinma (Ify) Nwigwe

Ifedinma Nwigwe is the INEE Country Focal Point for Nigeria. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Nigeria, and a degree in Early Childhood Education from the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Toronto, Canada. For over 18 years since then, she has worked with children of various ages in several different capacities. She has also worked with children with autism, following a specialized training program with the Son-Rise Program of the Autism Treatment Centre of America in Massachusetts.
Ifedinma is the Executive Director of Maple Leaf Early Years Foundation. Since co-founding Maple Leaf Early Years Foundation, Ifedinma has been focusing her efforts on Education in Emergencies, providing inclusive and holistic education intervention programs which include basic education for children in the early years, elementary school-aged children, youth, and young adults. She attributes much of the success of the programs to implementing the INEE Minimum Standards approach and has continued to strive in her mission to improve the standards of Education in Emergencies in Nigeria. She continues to advocate for access to quality education for all children across Nigeria and the African continent. Ifedinma is Nigerian and speaks English, Igbo, and Hausa.
