Fabiana Maglio
Term: March 2024- February 2026
Fabiana is the INEE Country Focal Point for Italy. She has a Master's degree in Education, Gender, and International Development from the Institute of Education, University College London, with a focus on refugee education. She has also lived and worked in several low- and middle-income countries in the Middle East and North Africa region, West and Central Africa, East Africa, and East Asia.
She is a senior expert with extensive experience overseeing global research programmes and policy initiatives focusing on education, child well-being, and social justice in both humanitarian and international development contexts. Following almost a decade working as Education Expert for the Italian Development Cooperation Agency - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fabiana has been serving as a senior consultant for various UN agencies and donors, including UNICEF, the World Bank Group, and UNHCR. She is passionate about enabling children's voices in educational research to enhance their agency and improve practice while upholding ethical integrity. Fabiana has fostered engagement among decision-makers, practitioners, and academia to support the use of research findings for policy dialogue, programme improvement, and system strengthening. Fabiana is Italian and speaks Italian, English, and French.
