INEE Minimum Standards for Education, 2024 Edition Launch at the HNPW

INEE and the Geneva Global Hub for Education in Emergencies held a launch of the INEE Minimum Standards for Education, 2024 Edition. This hybrid event took place at the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW) in Geneva.

Since 2004, the INEE Minimum Standards have provided a framework for quality education in emergencies. At the same time, the field of education in emergencies has changed significantly since the INEE MS were updated in 2010. Given their critical importance for the field of education in emergencies, ensuring that the INEE Minimum Standards reflect evolving issues, themes, and contexts in the humanitarian ecosystem is essential for delivering quality, safe, and relevant education in all emergency and crisis contexts.

This event showcased the INEE Minimum Standards, 2024 Edition, and the broad consultative process that informed it. It fostered a space for dynamic and critical discussion around key developments and learning in EiE over the last decade, how these diverse perspectives have been reflected in the updated handbook, and the role of the INEE MS in supporting education stakeholders across the globe in upholding the right to education at all times.
