Non-state actors
A broad, catch-all term describing individuals and organizations involved not only in education provision, but also in education financing and influencing the state’s direction in its obligation to fulfil the right to education. This term can be in reference to:
- Individuals who benefit from and/or pay for education, provide education, and express views on its content, modality and delivery
- Private corporations
- Philanthropic foundations
- Non-governmental, civil society, trade union and faith-based organizations, and others.
