Natural disaster
This term is an outdated and should not be used as it misleads people into thinking that disasters are inevitable and that there is nothing that we can do about them. Quite the opposite is true. Whilst some hazards are natural and unavoidable, the resulting disasters almost always have been made by human actions and decisions. Please, consider playing your part in breaking the myth of 'natural disasters' by using the briefer and less contentious term 'disaster'.
