Julia Finder Johna
Julia Finder Johna is a Senior Advisor on Education in Crisis and Conflict with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Center for Education. Julia began her career in education as a classroom teacher and then worked with several international organizations in the US and abroad to support the development, implementation and monitoring of education programs in the Middle East, East and West Africa, Latin America and Asia. Years of experience supporting education in emergencies has strengthened her expertise in conflict-sensitive education, school safety, non-formal education, social emotional learning, teacher wellbeing and the integration of mental health and psychosocial support into education programs. Over the years Julia has served on various inter-agency advisory groups and task forces and currently sits on the Education in Conflict and Crisis Network (ECCN) Steering Group. Julia holds a Masters in Social Justice and Education from the University College London’s Institute of Education.
