Jeffrey Dow
Jeffrey Dow comes with more than 15 years of experience in education and education in emergencies globally. Jeffrey Dow has been IRC’s Regional Education Technical Advisor for Asia since April 2020, working to support IRC’s education programming across the Asia region, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Prior to this, Jeffrey was the Senior Regional Education Advisor for Save the Children in the Middle East (2017-2020), supporting both humanitarian and development programming across the Middle East Region, including Category 1 EiE responses in Yemen, Iraq and Syria. Jeffrey was the Education Coordinator for IRC in Syria and Lebanon (2013-2017), overseeing the start-up of new education departments and portfolios, and Education Coordinator for the Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan (2012-2013), where he worked to start up the FCDO-funded Girls Education Challenge. Jeffrey was a classroom teacher both in the United States and in the Federated States of Micronesia for 4 years, a teacher trainer in Senegal, and is passionate about supporting improvements in teaching and learning in under-resourced contexts. Jeffrey co-led the INEE’s Professional Development Workstream from 2018-2020, was the representative of both Save the Children and IRC to the INEE Standards and Practice Working Group (2018-2021). Jeffrey enjoys hiking, climbing and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
