World MapINEE exists for and because of its members. 

INEE is an open, global network of more than 20,000 individual members affiliated with more than 4,000 organizations and institutions in 190 countries. INEE members are NGO and UN personnel, ministry of education and other government staff, local and regional CSO representatives, students, teachers, youth, donors, and researchers who work in education in emergencies.

Ways to ENGAGE

As an INEE member, you can engage with the network in a variety of ways: 

  • Stay current: Get the latest news, resources, events, and advocacy materials from the education in emergencies sector, all in one place - inee.org.
     
  • Access: Discover a wealth of tools and other resources in the INEE Resource Database with its powerful search and filter functions, and in the expert-vetted Resource Collections
     
  • Connect: Find other members by name, country, organization, and more in the INEE Member Directory (login required). You can also connect locally through our Country Focal Points!
     
  • Subscribe: Sign up to any of our 20+ email lists in Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish to get the latest, for example, on thematic topics, language communities, etc., right in your Inbox.
     
  • Participate: Join any of our webinars, roundtables, and other events - virtual and in-person - to learn and participate in relevant and timely discussions.
     
  • Engage: Follow issues that matter to you through our social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more. 
     
  • Share: Use online forms to publish job vacancies, events, and resources on the INEE website (login required).
     
  • Contribute: Write blog posts to raise attention to specific issues, crises, and discourses.
     
  • Speak: Connect and engage with the INEE Language Communities, which facilitate advocacy, resource development, and knowledge sharing among INEE members who speak Arabic, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
     
  • Deliver: Strengthen your work in EiE by making use of the INEE Minimum Standards and their companion tools to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises in the education, and support policy, advocacy, and evidence work.
     
  • Advocate: Equip yourself with talking points and tools to effectively advocate for education in emergencies.
     
  • Learn: Take the self-paced course on Education in Emergencies and other e-learning content coming soon. Join trainings - virtual or in-person - on the INEE Minimum Standards and other resources. They are in high demand and are first come, first served.
     
  • Explore: Engage with new research and data from colleagues around the world, including in the Journal on Education in Emergencies and its Behind the Pages podcast, and emerging outputs from the E-Cubed Research Fund. 
     
  • Request: Send technical support requests to the INEE Help Desk for questions about INEE tools, resources, and capacity building opportunities.
     
  • Network: Join other members at Meet-Ups and other open and informal gatherings to share experiences and discuss your work and thematic topics, and join other INEE members in the INEE Community of Practice
     
  • Convene: Launch and/or join existing groups of members in INEE network spaces (e.g. task teams, reference groups, etc.), focused on specific topics to foster dialogue and build partnerships to work towards shared solutions.

  1. Practitioners

    By engaging with INEE, you will have access to various INEE platforms, including INEE network spaces, where you can share your perspectives, resources, and experience on EiE with other colleagues at local, regional, and international levels.

    By networking and forging positive working relationships with both new and existing partners within the INEE network, you will strengthen your work -- and your results.

    Organizations with international purviews and staff in many different contexts can play key roles in the exchange and development of ideas from local to global. 

    By participating in global discussion forums facilitated by INEE, you will have the opportunity to shape the policies and priorities at every level, so you have the commitments and support you need to succeed in your work. 

    Connecting with others in the global network who are doing similar work to yours, both in your country and in other parts of the world, will be mutually uplifting for their work and yours.

  2. Ministry of education staff

    As an INEE member, you will benefit from the extensive resources available on the INEE website to support your work using the INEE Minimum Standards, and developing preparedness and contingency plans.

    Being part of this global network will allow you to exchange knowledge, skills, and connections with stakeholders near and far, including through interactive discussion forums, a technical support help desk, trainings, and mailing lists to receive and share up-to-date information.

  3. Academics and researchers

    By joining INEE, you will be able to interact with EiE actors of all types and see how the sector takes up and uses research. By regularly engaging with EiE actors, you will also gain a clearer sense of evidence gaps and the kind of EiE research most needed by the community.

    Through contact with other researchers and practitioners, you will improve your access to the latest evidence and research from colleagues around the world, potentially identify new research partners, and strengthen your ties to the EiE research, data, and evidence community.

  4. Teachers

    INEE helps you elevate your needs and priorities to policy and practice discourses and in resource development. 

    You will have access to and will be empowered to help shape tools designed to support teachers in crisis, such as the Training Pack for Primary School Teachers in Crisis Contexts, the Peer Coaching Pack, and other resources.

  5. Students

    As a member of INEE, the preeminent EiE network, you have direct access to EiE professionals and leaders in the sector, as well as to key EiE discourses and initiatives. 

    The extensive EiE resources available on the INEE website will strengthen your studies and general knowledge on EiE.

    You will expand your professional network and boost your job prospects in EiE.

  6. Adolescents and youth

    Joining INEE will give you a platform to engage directly with policymakers and other practitioners and advocates to influence decisions that affect you.

    Lend your creativity, priorities, and experience to the processes and discourses to define solutions to the education problems you face every day.

    By joining INEE, you will be able to help feed into the tools that are being developed to inform the work that affects you, so that EiE actors in your community and country can work in response to your needs and priorities with you as partners.

  7. Refugees and IDPs

    By engaging with INEE, you will be able to raise your voice in the global discourses and decisions affecting your education. You will have opportunities to connect and share your unique personal experiences, needs, and priorities with EiE practitioners and policy makers from the local to the global levels.

  8. Donors

    As a member of INEE, you can directly engage with national policymakers, advocates, researchers, and practitioners on a full scope of EiE-related issues that will give you and your organization deeper, unvarnished insight into the EiE sector and community, a clearer understanding of the needs and priorities of implementers, and new ideas for ways to more strategically invest in EiE to meet the needs of communities in crisis around the world.

    Working side-by-side with diverse EiE actors, you will also gain a broader view of which actors are doing what, as well as opportunities to offer your priorities and expertise to EiE actors and stakeholders beyond those in your portfolio.
