Rural Populations

This chapter outlines key strategies and guidance notes for educational authorities, planners and providers to help them keep the rural/urban distinction in mind when developing strategies for education in emergencies. It contains a checklist of attributes of a good school, whether rural or urban, from the point of view of pupils, parents and community, teachers, and administrators and inspectors (pp. 25-6).
