Armed Conflict Location and Events Dataset (ACLED)

This dataset provides georeferenced data on political violence and protests from developing countries. Data include the dates, locations, and fatalities of battles, violence against civilians, riots, and protests.

These data can be used to help inform program planning, design of conflict sensitive education, and staff security decisions. The data are updated at approximately monthly intervals. ACLED provides data on political or conflict-related events that do not result in any deaths, but the data quality for violence is less consistent compared to UCDP.
