Her Turn: It's time to make refugee girls' education a priority

This report calls for an international effort to educate female refugees. According to the UNHCR, millions of women and girls among the world's ever-growing refugee population do not have access to education.

Limited access to schooling perpetuates and magnifies the challenges of life in exile – finding work, staying healthy, holding on to dignity and hope. It also limits the potential of refugee women and girls to rebuild their lives, protect themselves against abuse and take a lead in shaping the lives of their communities.

Enabling refugee girls to get access to quality education requires action right across the board – from national education ministries and teacher training institutions, to communities and classrooms. This report reviews strategies on how to widen access to education for female refugees, and demands that the international community assists in making this a reality.
