Disponíveis em dezenas de línguas diferentes, as diferentes secções destas biblioteca são desenhadas para apoiar um currículo abrangente, incluindo quer materiais educativos formais, quer materiais exploratórios, como livros, jogos e exercícios de simulação.

Approximately 2.8 million Syrian children have lost their opportunities for schooling because of the conflict that started in 2011. In the fall of 2015, Norway therefore took the initiative to launch an international competition, calling for smartphone applications that can help Syrian children learn to read and improve their psychosocial well-being.

The Global Digital Library collects existing high quality open educational reading resources, and makes them available on web, mobile and for print. The Global Digital Library currently offers resources in 43 languages, and by end 2020 the goal is to provide 100 languages.
