Gender Balance

Gender balance is defined as an approximately equal number of men and women and boys and girls. It can refer to participation and input into activities and decision-making to ensure that both male and female interests are considered and protected. It can refer to the number of men and women employed by education authorities and by international and national agencies. It is particularly important in the employment of teachers. A balance of men and women at all levels creates more possibilities for discussing and addressing the different impacts of policies and programming on men and women and boys and girls.
